MindGrid: a consumer mobile game, AI-assisted, off the Microsoft stack
outcome shipped consumer software on a second stack
Problem
Side-project evidence that full-stack shipping ability is not tied to one employer’s platform.
What I built
A word-puzzle game in React Native (Expo) with a Supabase backend, Google and Apple sign-in, and GPU-rendered graphics (react-three-fiber, Skia), targeting iOS, Android, and web. Developed AI-assisted with Cursor and Claude.
Engineering depth: a tiered Jest harness (unit, integration, fast data-driven, and a slow suite validating every generated puzzle level), Playwright web tests, and a separate React and Vite level-generator UI as an internal content tool.
Outcome
Shipped consumer software on a second stack (React Native, Supabase, Vercel and Render-style hosting), with the unglamorous internal tooling and data-driven tests that keep content-heavy products maintainable.
